Getting started

What is the Study Abroad Portal?

A free place to build one study abroad profile and connect with universities and institutions that fit your goals, in 50 countries across Europe, North and Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Is this the same Studying Plus as studyingplus.org?

Yes. This is the Study Abroad website of Studying Plus LLC. You sign in to the portal at abroad.studyingplus.org, and our emails come from addresses ending in @studyingplus.org.

Should I use the portal or guided support?

The portal is the quickest way: create your profile and match with universities directly. If you’d rather have one-to-one help choosing programmes and preparing documents, our team offers guided support. You can use both.

Do I need to fill in everything?

No. Start with the basics and add more when you can. Your completion bar shows what’s missing, and a fuller profile matches with more programmes.

Which documents should I prepare?

Usually your passport, transcripts and certificates, an English test result or English-medium letter, a CV and a personal statement. See Destinations for each country’s checklist, top subjects and fees. In the portal you can upload PDF or image files of up to 4 MB each.

I don’t have IELTS or TOEFL. Can I still apply?

Yes. You can add other tests such as Duolingo or PTE, or a letter from your university confirming you studied in English. Each institution decides what it accepts.

Matching and privacy

How does matching work?

Universities set what each programme needs. The portal compares your profile with it and shows you the programmes where you are a good fit, and what is still missing.

Who can see my information?

Universities first see an anonymous summary without your name or contact details. Your full profile and documents are shared with a university only after you agree and confirm by email.

Can I hide my profile?

Yes. Untick “Let verified universities find my anonymous profile” at the top of your profile at any time. You can still send your profile to programmes yourself.

Can I withdraw an application?

Yes, from your Applications page, until it has been submitted to the university. After that, write to support@studyingplus.org.

Fees and payment

What does it cost?

Creating a profile and seeing your matches is free. When you submit your profile to a programme, you pay a platform fee plus any application fee that university charges. You’ll see the total before you confirm.

How do I pay?

We send a Wise or PayPal payment request in US dollars, or in your own currency where they support it. After paying, enter the transaction ID in the portal and we confirm it. Your bank may add international fees, exchange-rate differences or taxes. See payments and refunds.

Is admission guaranteed?

No. Admission, scholarship and visa decisions are made by universities and authorities, not by Studying Plus.

Guided support

What does guided support include?

One-to-one help from our office team: understanding your goals, shortlisting programmes, preparing application documents and planning next steps for your country.

Is guided support free?

Guided support is a separate paid service. We explain the fees before you commit, and you can still use your free portal profile alongside it.

How do I start?

Fill in the short readiness check and enquiry. Your checklist reaches our team with your message, so we can reply with the right next steps.
